Surrey Goalball Club

Play. Compete. Belong.

Who We Are

Surrey Goalball Club was established in 2025 to help promote the sport of goalball — a competitive team sport designed specifically for the blind and visually impaired — in the county. We aim to provide high quality training and competitive opportunities in goalball for blind and sighted athletes across Surrey, whether it's their first time, have played a bit before, or even if they represent GB on the world stage.

Our club is currently in the early stages of development. Stay tuned on this page and on our social media channels (@surreygoalball everywhere) to find out when we have news about club progress or taster sessions.

Mission Statement

To make goalball accessible to people of all abilities across Surrey, fostering a supportive community where everyone can develop skills, challenge themselves, and enjoy the sport.

How You Can Get Involved

Whether you want to play, coach, help out, or just come along and watch, there's something here at SGC for you. Complete the form below to get in touch. Here are some of the things you could be doing.

  • Our players are the centre of everything we do. Whether you’ve never played before, or have played at intermediate or elite levels, we would love to have you on our team! You don't have to be visually impaired, although of course that is our primary focus.

  • If you have experience with adaptive sports, especially goalball, or experience working with VI people, you might make a great coach. In training, coaches support players developing their technique, tactical game understanding, and physical fitness. During games, coaches act as the eyes of the players, giving vital information to the team and providing feedback.

  • Whether it's sighted guiding, helping with event organisation, fundraising, or promoting the club, there are many ways to get involved off the court. Volunteers will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our club and creating a welcoming environment for everyone.

  • If you’re a business or individual passionate about supporting inclusive sports, sponsoring the club or donating equipment and resources can make a huge difference. Your support helps us cover costs for venue hire, equipment, and outreach efforts, ensuring the club is accessible to everyone who wants to play.

  • You can help us reach more people by sharing goalball and the club with your friends and family. Recommending the sport to a friend, tagging us in your Instagram posts, or a simple retweet can all go a long way.
